iPad and iPhone are becoming ubiquitous in enterprise
The latest word out of Apple (via Apple Insider) is that now not only is the iPhone used at 80% of Fortune 100 companies, but already the iPad has been integrated into 50% of the companies, primarily as presentation device to demonstrate products to customers. Supposedly many businesses are considering replacing laptops to a somee degree with iPads because of their small size, quick bootup time, travel friendliness, and general simplicity. This jibes well with my personal anecdotal experience where at least one big Bay Street law firm and on junior mining and exploration company are offering iPhones as alternatives to Blackberrys as company phones, and iPads are starting to appear at academic scientific conferences allowing for a richer multitimedia experience than the traditional poster presentation can offer.
